Christmas in Costa Rica

Downtown Quepos. Quepos used to be a big port for banana exports but is now mostly a tourist destination with lots of small hotels, resorts and B&B's in the area and along the 10 km stretch from Quepos to the Manuel Antonio National Rainforest Park.

Riding horses on the beach and into the forest.

The beach and hotel had lots of places to relax and catch some sun or just to relax.
Even for the iquanas who sunned themselves outside my patio in the afternoon

Hiking through a private rainforest reserve up the side of the mountain to the top where a tall observation tower had been built.
The views from the top of the tower were incredible!
Even I was a tad sweaty after the hike.

The local wildlife

White water rafting on the Orange River...
(Don't ask why I am so wet !)

Some great Costa Rican sunsets as well!
